About This Watch
Introduced in 2011, the modern Transocean was conceived as Breitling’s expression of the elegance of a bygone era of travel. Cleaner and more classically proportioned than the brand’s instrument watches, it gave the manufacture Calibre 01 a quieter stage, with a polished case and disciplined dial in place of the Navitimer’s slide rule or the Chronomat’s rider-tab bezel.
This example is distinguished by a black dial with applied baton markers, slender luminous hands and three recessed counters, with the date set discreetly between four and five o’clock. A tachymeter scale traces the dial’s outer edge, while the polished stainless steel case and black calfskin strap give the watch a refined, formal presence. Presented with its box and rated 7.5/10.
