About This Watch
Kurono Tokyo is the accessible line from Hajime Asaoka, one of Japan's most respected independent watchmakers, and the Anniversary Calendrier "Azuki" was released in May 2023 as the final edition of the Calendrier Type I before it was discontinued. Inside is a genuinely rare configuration: a Japan-made Miyota Calibre 9122 combining a central running-seconds hand with a full triple calendar, a combination almost never seen outside Swiss movements at many times the price.
This example wears the Azuki dial, named for the deep maroon-red of the Japanese red bean it's styled after, finished in phosphor-bronze beneath off-white Art Deco numerals, with guilloché day and month sub-dials and hand-bent leaf hands. The case carries a high-polish coin-edge bezel and a box sapphire crystal, on the black leather strap. It comes as a full set, still carrying its factory protective film, with the original Kurono presentation box, wax seal, and documentation.
38mm forged 316L stainless steel case powered by the automatic Miyota Calibre 9122, a triple-calendar movement displaying day, date, and month alongside a central seconds hand, approximately 40 hours of power reserve, a box sapphire crystal, and 50m water resistance.
