About This Watch
The "Polar" dial is what collectors call the white-faced Explorer II, and this one wears it the way it looked before Rolex changed the dial print at the end of the decade: the lume plots at each hour marker are framed in black, and the text at 6 o'clock still reads "SWISS-T<25," the mark Rolex used while these dials carried tritium lume, discontinued for Super-LumiNova in 1999. Inside is the reference's original Calibre 3185, fitted to every 16570 built between 1989 and 2007, a Superlative Chronometer-certified movement with one quirk collectors know well: its 24-hour GMT hand isn't independently adjustable, so setting a second time zone means turning the whole hour hand rather than just the GMT hand, unlike the 3186 that eventually replaced it.
This example comes with its full set: the Rolex Oyster presentation box, the original Warranty paper from Rolex, the Official Chronometer Certification with its red seal, the translation booklet, and the swing tag, plus a documented Rolex service history including the latest work carried out through Swiss Watch Services Dubai.
40mm stainless steel case powered by the Rolex Calibre 3185, a Superlative Chronometer-certified automatic movement with a 24-hour GMT hand and fixed engraved bezel, a quickset date, approximately 48 hours of power reserve, a sapphire crystal, and 100m water resistance.
