About This Watch

The 1926 collection takes its name from Tudor's own founding year, when Hans Wilsdorf registered the Tudor trademark with a simple brief: build a watch his retailers could sell for less than a Rolex, without giving up the dependability Rolex was already known for. Introduced at Baselworld in 2018 as the brand's new entry point into its own catalogue, the line looks backward rather than forward for its design cues, borrowing the domed, embossed dial construction and leaf-shaped hands of Tudor's mid-century watches rather than the tool-watch language of the Black Bay or Pelagos ranges.

This example's black dial carries that embossed, domed texture along with rhodium-plated markers and hands that pick up the light differently depending on the angle, a small date window sitting cleanly at 3 o'clock beneath a smooth, polished steel bezel. It's fitted to Tudor's seven-row steel bracelet, with its alternating satin-brushed outer links and polished centre links, currently sized to 18.5cm and missing a few links from full length.

39mm steel case powered by the Tudor manufacture Calibre T601, a self-winding movement with approximately 38 hours of power reserve, sapphire crystal, and 100m water resistance.
