About This Watch
The Tudor Heritage Black Bay ref. 79220R is the watch that started the modern Black Bay line, introduced at Baselworld 2012 as Tudor's tribute to its own vintage dive watches from the 1950s through 1970s. Presented without crown guards, in the style of Tudor's earliest "Big Crown" divers, it set the template — snowflake hands, a domed dial, and a colour-coded bezel — that the entire Black Bay family has built on ever since.
This example carries the burgundy "Bordeaux" red bezel insert that gave this reference its nickname, paired with the black domed dial, applied Super-LumiNova markers, and the rose-gold-toned snowflake hands and gilt printed text that echo Tudor's vintage catalogue.
